President Bola Tinubu Announces Ministerial Redeployments and Ministry Renaming

President Bola Tinubu has authorized significant changes in his cabinet, as confirmed by Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale. Among these changes, Adegboyega Oyetola, former Governor of Osun State and minister-designate, will transition from the Ministry of Transportation to the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

Abubakar Momoh, another minister-designate, has been reassigned from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development.

 

Additionally, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, a minister-designate, will now serve in the Ministry of Interior, while Sa’idu Alkali takes over as the Minister of Transportation.

In an official statement, it was disclosed that both Ministers of State in the Oil & Gas sector will now operate within the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources:

(i) Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri will assume the role of Hon. Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources.

(Ii) Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo will take on the role of Hon. Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources.

Furthermore, the President has approved the renaming of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management to the Federal Ministry of Environment, reflecting an emphasis on environmental matters in the government.
