Nigerian afrobeat singer Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, recently expressed his eagerness to collaborate with billionaire American rapper Kanye West. In an interview with Billboard News, Asake shared that he had prayed for the opportunity to work together.
He emphasized his preference for collaborating with artists he has a genuine connection with, saying, “I need to like the person before I can make music with them. I need that comfort, not just for the music but because of the real energy between us. If you like me beyond the music, it’s even better. There must be synergy.”
Asake has consistently voiced his desire to collaborate with Kanye, hoping that it might come to fruition with some divine intervention. He also commented on the remarkable global expansion of the afrobeats genre, comparing it to the pride of seeing a child grow, and he believes it will continue to flourish in the years to come.
