500 Million Naira Scheme: Sowore Exposes DSS Tactics in Nnamdi Kanu Case

Former Presidential Candidate Sowore Exposes DSS’s 500 Million Naira Scheme in Nnamdi Kanu Case

In an exclusive interview with iSEE Magazine, former Nigerian presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, shed light on the prolonged detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Sowore disclosed a significant factor contributing to the DSS’s reluctance to release Kanu promptly. He asserted that during each court appearance where Kanu is brought before a judge by the DSS, the agency stands to profit substantially, reportedly earning up to five hundred million Naira.

Moreover, Sowore emphasized that despite multiple court hearings, no judge has found incriminating evidence against Kanu. He expressed dismay over the situation, highlighting the irony of DSS officers, some with only a WAEC certificate, assuming the authority to regulate which lawyers gain access to the Federal High Court premises. Sowore condemned this practice as detrimental to the integrity of the Nigerian Bar Association.
