Sean Kingston and Mother Face Federal Charges for Alleged $1 Million Fraud Scheme

Sean Kingston, renowned for his hit song “Beautiful Girls,” and his mother, Janice Turner, are facing serious federal charges for allegedly defrauding businesses of over $1 million.

Federal prosecutors revealed that a Grand Jury in Miami indicted Kingston and Turner on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and five counts of wire fraud. The charges accuse the duo of orchestrating a scheme to obtain high-end goods such as jewelry and luxury vehicles without making proper payments.

The indictment states that Kingston and his mother falsely claimed to have sent money transfers to cover the cost of the items. Despite these payments never being completed, they kept the goods, which included a $160,000 Cadillac Escalade and $480,000 worth of jewelry.

The fraudulent activities reportedly allowed Kingston and Turner to unjustly enrich themselves by over $1 million. They were arrested in May following a raid on Kingston’s Florida mansion and made their first appearance in federal court on Friday, July 19.

If convicted, both Kingston and Turner face significant penalties, with each of the six counts carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Sean Kingston’s attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, expressed confidence in their defense, telling TMZ that they are prepared to litigate the case in federal court and expect a favorable outcome.
