Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have officially finalized their divorce, but tensions remain high over a key parenting decision — their daughter’s education.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the former couple has settled the terms of their separation, including 50/50 custody of their 4-year-old daughter, Juno. Jackson, 46, will pay $2,787 in monthly child support, while both parties agreed that no spousal support will be exchanged. They’ve also committed to using a mediator to coordinate a shared custody schedule.
However, despite these agreements, a major point of contention lingers: where Juno will go to school.
Turner-Smith, 38, asserts in court filings that Jackson has not complied with a legal order granting her the final say on their daughter’s school enrollment. The Queen & Slim actress claims the two attended a full-day mediation in May 2024, during which temporary custody issues for the 2024–25 academic year were resolved. Following the session, they entered into a “Stipulation and Order” that gave Turner-Smith authority to choose Juno’s school.
In her statement, Turner-Smith said she selected a school she believes offers a “stable and diverse environment” for their daughter’s academic and personal growth. She informed Jackson of her decision in April — prior to Juno’s official acceptance — and claims she made consistent efforts to collaborate with him, including consulting an educational advisor.
Despite these steps, Turner-Smith alleges that Jackson stated he “never intended to honor” the agreement and later challenged her authority in court. His legal team reportedly raised objections, citing issues such as commute time and questioning her right to finalize the enrollment decision.
Turner-Smith is now seeking $75,000 in attorney fees related to the dispute.
The couple married in 2019 and Turner-Smith filed for divorce in 2023 after more than three years of marriage. While their marital separation has now been legally concluded, co-parenting disagreements are proving to be an ongoing challenge.
