Nollywood actor and political figure, Yul Edochie, has made a heartfelt call to Ndigbo, urging them to return to the South East and invest in their homeland.
Taking to social media, Edochie encouraged Igbos living outside the region, especially those facing rejection or discrimination abroad, to see it not as a reason for conflict but as a spiritual nudge to come back home.
“We have wandered for too long,” he wrote. “Home is calling. Our ancestors and spirits in Igbo land are calling us to return and develop our land. A new dawn has come.”
Edochie emphasized that Igbo people have contributed immensely to the growth and economy of many places outside their native land. However, he believes the time has come for them to redirect that energy and wealth towards rebuilding and developing their own region.
Quoting a popular Igbo proverb, “Ana amalu mma si na uno wee puo ilo,” which means “charity begins at home,” Edochie reinforced the importance of reconnecting with one’s roots and building a legacy in one’s place of origin.
His message has sparked conversations across social media, with many praising the actor for his bold call to action and his vision for a prosperous South East driven by homegrown investments.
