A fraudster, Xahra Saleem, behind Black Lives Matter protests ordered to repay £1 despite misusing £70k in donations.

A young fraudster, Xahra Saleem, who misappropriated £70,000 from Black Lives Matter donations, has been ordered to pay back just £1 after lavishly spending the stolen funds on personal expenses.

Despite benefiting from an estimated £70,000, Saleem was found penniless during a hearing at Bristol Crown Court, where she was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for her fraudulent actions. The funds, originally intended for the Bristol-based youth group Changing Your Mindset, were never received, leaving the blameless individuals who supported the charity devastated.

Saleem’s abuse of trust and exploitation of her high public profile as an organizer of Black Lives Matter marches were highlighted during the sentencing, with the judge emphasizing the need for accountability and remorse.

However, the youth group expressed disappointment, feeling let down and unlikely to recover the misappropriated funds, which they had hoped to use for positive community change.
