Nigerian rapper and songwriter, Blaqbonez, has revealed that he would prefer an open marriage, citing the natural decline in intimacy that often occurs in long-term relationships.
Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, the rapper explained that many married couples struggle to maintain the same level of physical intimacy they enjoyed at the beginning of their relationships. According to him, this reality makes it important for couples to be more flexible in their expectations.
“I don’t mind having an open marriage. Most married couples don’t keep having the same amount of sex they had at the beginning — it reduces,” he said.
Blaqbonez added that he would not have a problem with his partner being intimate with someone else as long as their emotional bond remains strong. “If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I’m hustling or on tour, that’s okay. There’s more to marriage than sex,” he stated.
The rapper further emphasized that emotional connection, not sexual exclusivity, is what truly holds a marriage together. “I don’t mind that you are sleeping with someone else provided you’re dedicated to me. It will be difficult for a random person to match up with what I’ve invested emotionally,” he added.
Blaqbonez, known for his bold opinions and unfiltered personality, also mentioned that if he ever gets married, he would prefer having separate bedrooms for himself and his wife, saying they would only meet when they want to be intimate.
His comments have sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some people praised his honesty and unconventional thinking, others criticized his stance, arguing that it contradicts traditional and cultural values about marriage.
