Chelsea fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as reports confirm that the club has reached an agreement regarding Romelu Lukaku’s release clause. Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano shared the news on his official X account on Monday, October 9, 2023. According to him, Chelsea has established a buy-out clause of £37 million for Romelu Lukaku, and this deal will become available during the summer transfer window in 2024.
Lukaku has been in exceptional form for Roma across all competitions, netting seven goals. He made the switch to the Serie A club from AS Roma during the 2023 summer transfer window for a fee of £8 million.
Interestingly, Lukaku becomes the second player to make the move from Chelsea to AS Roma, following Tammy Abraham’s transfer during the 2021 summer transfer window. Notably, this marks the third time that Jose Mourinho will be managing Lukaku, as the two previously worked together at Chelsea and Manchester United.
