Dallas Cowboys Mourn the Death of 24-Year-Old Defensive End Marshawn Kneeland

Dallas, USA — The Dallas Cowboys have announced the tragic passing of their defensive end, Marshawn Kneeland, who died on Thursday morning, November 6, at just 24 years old.

In a statement released by the team, the Cowboys expressed deep sorrow over the young athlete’s untimely death.

“It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning. Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers are with his girlfriend, Catalina, and his family,” the statement read.

As of press time, no cause of death has been disclosed.

Kneeland, who was in his second season with the Cowboys, had played seven games this year, recording 12 tackles and one sack. He made headlines earlier in the week after scoring his first career touchdown during the Cowboys’ loss to the Arizona Cardinals, recovering a blocked punt in the end zone.

The 2024 second-round draft pick from Western Michigan University was widely regarded as a rising star in the NFL. His agent paid a touching tribute on Instagram, describing Kneeland as a player who gave everything to the game.

“I watched him fight his way from a hopeful kid at Western Michigan with a dream to becoming a respected professional with the Dallas Cowboys,” the agent wrote. “To lose someone with his talent, spirit, and goodness is a pain I can hardly put into words. My heart aches for his family, his teammates, and everyone who loved him.”

The NFL also released a statement on social media, saying it was “deeply saddened by the tragic news,” and extended condolences to Kneeland’s family and the Cowboys organization.

Fans and teammates across the league have flooded social media with tributes, remembering Kneeland for his determination, humility, and infectious positivity both on and off the field.
