David Umahi, the former Governor of Ebonyi state, wasted no time in announcing his commitment to revamping Nigeria’s federal roads upon taking office as the Minister of Works. During a press conference at the Federal Ministry of Works in Abuja on August 21, Umahi declared that he would begin inspecting and assessing all federal roads in just two weeks.
Umahi, known for his hands-on approach, emphasized that bureaucratic delays would become a thing of the past under his leadership. He pledged that no file would sit unattended for more than two hours without a valid explanation.
“I am not an office person; I am a field person,” Umahi asserted. “In two weeks, I will hit the ground running by inspecting roads, starting with the Lokoja-Benin Road and Lokoja-Abuja Road. After that, I’ll tour all six geopolitical zones to see things for ourselves.”
The stage is set for a dynamic transformation of Nigeria’s road infrastructure as Minister Umahi gears up for action. Stay tuned for updates on this ambitious initiative.
