Afrobeats superstar Davido is making a bold statement about his pride in Nigeria following backlash over comments he made about the country’s economy during a recent interview abroad.
In response to the criticism, the singer shared a photo of himself sporting a durag in the colors of the Nigerian flag, captioning the post: “I Dey go do interview nw … fully representing (Nigeria). Say make I kuku put am for head.”
This move comes after Davido faced heat for discussing Nigeria’s economic challenges, including inflation and the poor state of the economy, during an interview with a US media outlet.
By literally “putting Nigeria on his head,” Davido seems to be addressing critics while reaffirming his patriotism and dedication to representing his country on the global stage.
