Hunter Biden Sues Fox News Over Alleged “Revenge Porn” in 2022 Series

Hunter Biden has initiated legal action against Fox News, accusing the network of airing explicit images of him in what he describes as “revenge porn.” The controversy is linked to Fox Nation’s 2022 series, “The Trial of Hunter Biden,” a dramatized depiction of a fictional criminal trial. The series included a disclaimer noting its fictional nature but portrayed Biden being prosecuted for corruption, a charge frequently asserted by Donald Trump supporters due to Biden’s past business dealings in Ukraine and China. These allegations have not led to any legal proceedings.

The lawsuit alleges that the series featured real images of Hunter Biden, depicting him nude, with exposed intimate parts, and engaged in sexual acts. According to the complaint, “Fox published and disseminated these intimate images to its vast audience of millions as part of an entertainment program to humiliate, harass, annoy, and alarm Mr. Biden and to tarnish his reputation.”

The explicit images allegedly came from a laptop that Hunter Biden left at a computer repair shop and never retrieved. The laptop’s contents have since been widely circulated, fueling numerous conspiracy theories and causing political embarrassment for Biden.

In response, Fox News issued a statement calling the lawsuit “entirely politically motivated” and “devoid of merit.” The network stated that Hunter Biden did not raise any complaints until sending a letter in late April 2024. Fox News claims it removed the program within days of receiving the letter, “in an abundance of caution.” The statement emphasized that Fox News has “accurately covered the newsworthy events of Mr. Biden’s own making” and expressed confidence in vindicating its rights in court.

In recent developments, Hunter Biden was convicted in June of illegal possession of a firearm, a federal trial that highlighted his struggles with addiction to alcohol, cocaine, and crack cocaine, as evidenced by many images found on the laptop. He is also set to face a separate tax fraud case in September, which could divert attention from his father, President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign.
