Iyanya, the Nigerian singer, recently took to social media to express his gratitude to the people of Calabar for the return of Mayorkun’s second diamond chain. The bedazzled necklace featuring Mayorkun’s face was reportedly returned to Hit FM Calabar.
Iyanya, visibly appreciative, shared a picture of the recovered jewelry and extended thanks to the individual who returned it. This positive turn of events follows Mayorkun’s public dissatisfaction and the reported theft of his expensive jewelry during his performance at the Calabar Festival on Monday night.

The singer behind ‘Betty Butter’ had sworn off returning to the state but extended good wishes to fellow artists performing at festivals there. Despite his initial stance, Iyanya, a Cross River native, offered a reward for anyone helping recover stolen pendants.
Today, on December 21, 2023, Iyanya announced on social media that one of the necklaces had been returned, thanking the person responsible. The necklace made its way back via Hit FM before reaching him in Calabar.
