Kenneth Petty, the spouse of Nicki Minaj, received a 120-day house arrest sentence for violating his probation terms. This came after he posted social media clips that seemed to threaten Offset, Cardi B’s husband, as detailed in a court order filed on September 20th in the Central District of California. The order specifically referred to threatening remarks made by Petty in the presence of someone with a criminal record, with Offset being the targeted individual.
These clips surfaced on social media on September 16th, where Petty and his group were outside a New York City hotel where Offset was staying. In one viral video, Petty made several threatening comments, including a remark about planning a vacation that sounded more like planning a funeral. In response, Offset downplayed the threats on his own social media, calling Petty “funny” and implying financial struggles on Petty’s part.
This incident follows Petty’s prior probation sentence in July 2022, stemming from his failure to register as a sex offender in California in 2020. In 1995, he had a previous conviction for first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, resulting in a four-year prison term in New York.
