Renowned Nigerian singer and founder of a record label, Habeeb Okikiola, professionally known as Portable, has addressed the ongoing speculations linking him romantically with the late Alaafin of Oyo’s wife, Queen Dami.
In an exclusive interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, hosted by popular On Air Personality Nedu Wazobia, the enigmatic artist candidly acknowledged his romantic involvement with the young lady.
Recently, the internet was abuzz with screenshots revealing heartfelt exchanges between Portable and Dami, where they affectionately referred to each other as “my king” and “queen,” accompanied by love emojis.
Speaking about his relationship with Queen Dami, the acclaimed Zazuu star emphasized that had the King been alive, he would have maintained a respectful distance, as he believes that “after king, na king.”
When queried about the veracity of the rumors, Portable promptly responded, stating, “Queen Dami has been a dedicated fan of mine since day one. Upon learning of the King’s passing, I recognized the boundary. You wouldn’t find me in her company if the King were still among us. I uphold the principle of respecting marital boundaries.”
