Russian President Vladimir Putin has openly stated his preference for seeing Joe Biden win a second term as U.S. President, describing him as more experienced and predictable compared to Donald Trump. Putin made these remarks during an interview on Russian state television, addressing the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
“Biden, he’s more experienced, more predictable, he’s a politician of the old formation,” Putin remarked when asked about his stance on the candidates. However, he also emphasized Russia’s willingness to work with any U.S. leader chosen by the American people.
In response, Trump, at a campaign rally, appeared to acknowledge Putin’s criticism, noting that “Putin is not a fan of mine.”
When questioned about speculation regarding Biden’s health, Putin declined to offer medical opinions, stating that he did not consider it appropriate to comment. He recalled their meeting in Switzerland in June 2021, affirming that Biden appeared to be in good health at the time.
Reflecting on criticism of Biden’s competence, Putin defended the U.S. President, stating that he did not witness any incompetence during their interactions. He dismissed concerns about Biden’s occasional use of notes and a minor incident where Biden bumped his head, likening it to common mishaps.
Regarding his recent interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Putin expressed surprise at Carlson’s approach, expecting more aggression and tough questioning. Putin indicated his readiness to respond sharply to such inquiries, highlighting his eagerness for robust dialogue.
