Recent Developments Regarding the Abduction of Luis Diaz’s Father

The search continues for Liverpool midfielder Luis Diaz’s kidnapped father in his hometown in Colombia. Colombian Defense Minister Ivan Velasquez has announced a reward of up to 200 million Colombian pesos (approximately £40,000) for anyone providing information that leads to the rescue of Diaz’s father and the capture of those responsible for the abduction.

The Colombian military, through the Fuerzas Militares de Colombia, has outlined their action plan to locate Luis Diaz’s father. They have initiated a joint operation involving the military’s special forces and the national police to find the missing person.

Colombian President responded to the situation, saying, “We have been in contact with soccer player Luis Díaz through the Government of the National Police. His mother was recovered yesterday, and we have deployed all available resources to locate his father.”

As a result of these developments, Luis Diaz was unavailable for Liverpool’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
