Self-proclaimed life coach Solomon Buchi has engaged in a debate with a woman who criticized Pastor Funke Adejumo’s advice on the behavior of single ladies during their first visit to potential in-laws.
In response to Adejumo’s teachings, a Twitter user identified as @faree_for_real expressed her reluctance to conform to what she deemed as “weird rules” set by her partner’s family. She stated her unwillingness to adhere to “misogynistic standards,” emphasizing that her partner’s love should suffice without the need for excessive demonstrations of propriety.

Buchi, upon encountering her tweet, took offense at her characterization of Adejumo’s advice as misogyny. He contended that the clergywoman simply outlined fundamental guidelines for social conduct that everyone should observe. Buchi expressed pity for men who might end up marrying women with such viewpoints.
Expressing his frustration, Buchi dismissed accusations of misogyny, asserting that the video merely addressed social decorum, comportment, and etiquette within Nigerian culture, regardless of ethnicity. He emphasized the importance of being accepted by one’s future family and the necessity of demonstrating respect and decorum during initial interactions with in-laws.
Buchi highlighted that similar expectations of comportment apply to men when visiting their in-laws for the first time, emphasizing the universality of these social norms.
