Tobi Amusan Blazes to Victory at Rabat Diamond League, Shatters Meet Record

Nigerian sprint sensation Tobi Amusan delivered a dominant performance at the Rabat Diamond League on Sunday, storming to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles with a stunning meet record of 12.24 seconds—her fastest time this season.

The 28-year-old world champion obliterated the previous meet record of 12.51 seconds, set by American Brianna McNeal, reaffirming her status as one of the world’s top hurdlers.

Dutch rival Nadine Visser claimed second place with a season-best 12.67 seconds, while Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska secured third in 12.69 seconds, also a season-best.

Other notable finishers included:

  • Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji (12.71s SB)

  • Italy’s Giada Carmassi (12.81s PB)

  • USA’s Destiny Huven (12.93s)

  • France’s Sacha Alessandrini (12.96s SB)

The race, run with a +1.2 m/s wind, marked Amusan’s first major triumph of the 2025 season after fourth-place finishes in Xiamen and Shanghai earlier in May.

With this commanding win, the Nigerian star sends a strong message ahead of upcoming championships, proving she remains a fierce contender on the global stage.
