“We’re Used to Suffering”: Zlatan Ibile Blames Government for Nigeria’s Economic Hardship

Nigerian rapper, Zlatan Ibile, has said that many Nigerians have become accustomed to hardship because the government has failed to fix the country’s struggling economy.

Zlatan made the comments while reacting to UK rapper Dave’s recent statement criticizing the culture of lavish spending in Nigerian clubs while beggars sit outside.

Speaking on Madame Joyce’s show in the UK, Zlatan admitted that hardship has become so normal that people no longer expect things to improve.

“We are used to it. That’s how it has always been and the government isn’t doing anything about it,” he said.

The rapper added that poverty and inequality have become part of daily life in Nigeria, making many citizens feel helpless.

He also pointed out that some beggars have now turned begging into a lifestyle, saying many of them collect money every day but refuse to find productive work.

“Some of them have become so entitled,” Zlatan said. “They need to find something to do instead of depending on handouts.”

Zlatan’s comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that Nigerians have become desensitized to hardship, while others criticized his remarks about beggars.
